We strongly urge you to check your Physical Therapy Benefits with your Insurance Company before your initial evaluation.

What do I need before I start physical therapy?

It's recommended that you get a prescription for Physical Therapy from your doctor before making your initial appointment. However per New York State law we  can see you for 10 visits withing 30 days without one.

What should I bring to my first appointment?
We ask that you bring your prescription for physical therapy and your insurance card.

What should I wear to physical therapy?

We recommend that you wear loose comfortable clothing.

How often do I go to physical therapy?

The frequency and duration of your physical therapy is determined based on the results of the initial evaluation and the prescription from your physician. On average patients attend 2-3 times a week and are re-assessed every 4 weeks.

What should I expect at my first visit?

On your first visit, you will meet with your physical therapist who will evaluate your injury or condition. Your physical examination will consist of testing your: range of motion, strength, balance, neurological function, inflammation, pain levels, soft tissue and joint integrity, and endurance. Your Physical Therapist will develop the most effective treatment plan to diminish your pain and limitations. The goal: to help you resume your normal life activities.

How much time will my first visit be?

You can expect to be at the office from 60 to 90 minutes on your first visit. You will undergo a comprehensive evaluation so we can establish an appropriate treatment plan. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment to discuss insurance
and billing procedures with our front office staff and complete your new patient paperwork.

How much time is a therapy session?

All treatment sessions are tailored to an individual's personal goals. However, on average a treatment session usually lasts approximately 60 minutes.

Will my doctor be updated on my progress?

A copy of your initial evaluation will be sent to your referring physician, along with progress notes to keep your physician updated on your condition and current functional status. Communication with all parties is an important component of your treatment program.
